Kennu is a private family memoir app. One person answers a question a week, by video, audio or text. A few invited relatives read those answers, reply to them, and add photographs. There is no public feed and no way to find a book you have not been invited to.
Only the members of your book, and access is enforced by the database rather than only by the app. People join by invitation; a reader has to be approved by the writer. An answer is not visible to readers until it is published.
We use a few companies to run the app, and they only handle what they need to:
Under their business terms, neither OpenAI nor Anthropic uses what we send to train their models. Data is stored in the United States.
Photographs and entries can be deleted in the app. To delete your account and everything attached to it, email us and we will take care of it.
Closing your account doesn't delete a book you contributed to, since it belongs to the writer and holds other people's memories too. Ask, and we'll remove your own contributions from it.
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. If this policy changes we'll update the date above. Kennu is not intended for children to use.
